The Florence Jr Rodeo
This Florence Junior Parada is the oldest youth rodeo in the United State. It pits the younest of riders against the oldest of venues to showcase their youthful rodeo skills. The rodeo attracts younsters ages five to 18 from across the Southwest. This year [2009] even three year olds can compete in lamb riding. Over the years, some of the younsters have gone on to compete nationally, earning Florence the name of "Cowboy Cradle of the Great Southwest".  The rodeo is held on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Clicking on the link above will direct you to the Florence Junior Parada website where I have several albums with photos from 2003 - 2009

Arizona Cowpuncher's Reunion Rodeo, Williams, AZ

Oh, oh....going over the horse's head?

Only working cowboys can enter the competition.

Milking a wild cow...not as easy as you'd think.
